Zanzibar Gem is another great plant for beginners trying to spruce up their space. With thick stems that hold onto water allowing for less frequent waterings, and the preference for fluorescent lights this is a great plant for any office or business building. The tall arching stems come from the rhizome below the soil. Even though this plant is great for offices if you work from home beware as it is poisonous to humans and pets if ingested.
